Christoph Abbrederis
October 1 to December 31, 2025
Sensitive, witty, and delightfully dark observations of the world – by the internationally acclaimed illustrator from Bregenz.

Christoph Abbrederis’ work masterfully bridges the gap between art and applied graphics, between storytelling and abstraction. Influenced by his time in New York and Madrid – where he illustrated for The New York Times, Der Spiegel or Cosmopolitan – he developed a visual language that fuses international aesthetics with a personal signature.
Whether in children’s book illustrations, editorial design, or comic art, his style is reduced yet expressive – playful at times, thoughtful at others, always to the point. Christoph has a rare talent for turning complex ideas into clear, visual narratives – whether for The New Yorker and Cicero, for refined cultural institutions, or for the delicate world of children’s literature.
Since 2007, he has lived in Vienna, where he shares his experience with the next generation as a lecturer at the University of Applied Arts. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, ranging from book illustration to free artistic projects. Christoph Abbrederis is an illustrator whose images don’t just decorate – they speak. Quietly, clearly, and with a special eye for what truly matters.
